Grand Opening Celebration & Fundraiser

Darryl Peoples is a self-taught freelance fashion designer and owner of Heru Ra Creations, LLC from Bessemer, AL. With the help of his therapist at Exceeding Contentment Behavioral Health, Inc., Darryl discovered he suffers from social anxiety and clinical depression. He then decided to challenge himself and overcome these conditions with the use of fashion as an outlet. Darryl made his start as a fashion model, however within a 3-year timeframe, he decided to take what he learned behind the scenes as a model and combining it with his skills as a professional designer,  launching his own fashion brand, Heru Ra Creations, where he creates Sophisticated, Bold, and Tailored looks.

Darryl organized and produced his very first fashion show in April of 2019 titled “The Rebirth.” This show was presented to bring awareness to mental health and had over 150+ guest in attendance.

During this event, Darryl was presented with a proclamation from state representative Juandalynn Givan. Darryl has also been published in magazines which includes, VZSN Magazine alongside side Olympian Wrestler Kelsey Campbell, Voyage ATL and more. Darryl competed in a designer competition for Magic City Fashion Week in 2022 and was one of the top 5 designers in the state of Alabama. During this time, he had the opportunity to work with Beyonce’s ex stylist and Author, Ty Hunter as well as interviewed by Madonna’s makeup artist Aaron Smith- Henrikson. Darryl was published on the cover page of the Birmingham Times News Paper. Darryl also was presented with an opportunity to partner with another designer to create a design for Chilli and T-Boz from TLC.
